You can make a big difference in increasing the numbers of farms that are conserved every year. Farm families are relying on us to help them conserve what for many of them has been their family farm for generations.

• Join the team! If you’re not already a member, join us to contribute at any level, and become a member of the New York Agricultural Land Trust.
• Become a business supporter. Click here to learn about our business supporters. Our business supporters help sponsor events, participate in the donation of services and equipment, and contribute to our overall farmland protection work. We greatly appreciate their community leadership.
• Already a member? Consider making an additional contribution of cash, stock, or other personal property. Become a monthly donor and help us conserve farmland year round.
• Make a special memorial gift to honor the memory of a friend or loved one who appreciated the working farms and forests of New York State. Memorial gifts may be made individually or suggested by the family of the deceased. 
• Celebrate a birthday, wedding, anniversary, celebrate a life transition, or honor a special person by making an honorary gift.  To make a memorial or honorary gift click here or  just enclose a note with your gift explaining who you wish to honor, the occasion (if applicable), and the name and address of the individual or next of kin to be notified of your gift.

When you make an honorary, memorial or celebratory gift, NYALT will send you a donation acknowledgement as well as the honoree (or in the case of a memorial gift, the family) a letter conveying your thoughts and gift (but not the specific amount).

• Make a legacy gift through your Will, or arrange a life income gift such as a charitable remainder trust, charitable gift annuity, or life insurance policy. You can also make a big difference in our farmland protection efforts by naming NYALT as a beneficiary in your life insurance, 401(k) Plans, IRA or other retirement plan. This is easy to do and is a great way of reducing your possible estate taxes.
• Donate Stock/ or Mutual Funds.

Contributing long-term appreciated stock and/or mutual funds are an easy way to help avoid capital gains tax and make a lasting contribution to NYALT and farmland protection.

• Give a gift of land or property. Our land trust can accept gifts of farm and forestland, houses, or other property to help further its farmland protection efforts. Click here for more information.
