Marshfield Farm

Marshfield Farms is a century dairy farm located on the hilltop overlooking the Otisco Lake valley in
the Towns of Marcellus and Skaneateles. Brothers Roger and Phil Marshfield are the 3rd
generation at their family farm. In 2009 Phil’s daughter, Amanda, returned to the farm and was
brought into the Marshfield Farms, LLC partnership. The total farm has two locations; the main
farm is in the town of Marcellus with an additional farm in Skaneateles. Both farm locations
make up approximately 288 acres of land, with 200 acres being tillable and 14 acres utilized for
pasture.

Together, the farmland is used to grow about 156 acres of corn and 179 acres of hay
annually, producing 2800 tons of corn silage and 1200 tons of haylage and round bales. All the
crops grown on the farm are used to support their own dairy operation. Currently the farm has a
milking herd of 160 cows and 170 head of youngstock with annual milk production at 4.1
million pounds. They are a member of the Preble Milk cooperative where the milk is sold under
contract to Chobani and Kraft Foods.
