The Karlik Family originally purchased their 138-acre farm in the Town of Skaneateles, Onondaga County in 1965. Kenneth Karlik has worked this land for the past 56 years. He raised three sons on the farm who have been active in the operation since they were young children. The Karlik family operated the farm as a dairy farm for 53 years, milking 60-65 cows on average. In 2018, the farm transitioned away from the dairy operation and pursued the cash crop industry. In 2020, they diversified the operation with the addition of 6 beef cows and 4 calves. They utilize the farmland to produce corn, soybeans, wheat, and hay. The farm is entirely managed by Kenneth and his sons without the help of outside labor. In total the family now has 129 acres of farmland under the protection of conservation easements.
